“Laguna Coast Foundation” has achieved its first huge success in environmental protection for which we are really proud. We reached an agreement in corporation with HEDNO S.A. (Hellenic Distribution Network Operator S.A.)  for the undergrounding of the medium voltage pylons in the beautiful area of Laguna Coast in Naxos Island, which will take place in the second half of 2023. HEDNO tasks include the operation, maintenance, and development of the power distribution network in Greece, as well as the assurance of a transparent and impartial access of consumers and of all network users in general. Its purpose is to provide reliable power supply to customers, quality of electricity voltage and constant improvement of quality in services. 

The undergrounding will contribute to the protection of flamingos and rare birds of Laguna, and it will assist in their further reproduction. Moreover, the rare plants and unique herbs of this historical area will be also protected.
